Custom Pools - Building Process
More than just a new, custom pool or spa, a SEQ Pools creation is the definition of elegant outdoor living: Designed and constructed to blend perfectly with your surrounding environment, it will transform your outdoor space into the ultimate Urban Oasis.
The Art Of Great Design
It begins with a site inspection - here we discuss your budget, design preferences and conditions required for construction. Rough sketches and notes made at the site meeting are taken to prepare contract price for your consideration.

Contracts and Legislative Requirements

Once all the particulars of the project are agreed upon, its time for the contract and deposit to be paid.
Soil Test
This is conducted by a qualified specialist from a vehicle which drills into the ground and takes core samples to qualify the rate of settlement and soil types. This is done to determine its bearing capacity and it is a requirement for the engineer when designing the pools steel reinforcing for its structural adequacy.

Engineering
Using the data collected from the soil test the engineer designs structural requirements for the construction. At this point sketches and drawings from the design stage converted by a draftsman to prepare topical images used in council approval process that show the location and orientation of the swimming pool on the property.
Certification
Once all the above documents are completed, they are forwarded to an independent certifier. Their job is to check all drafting and engineering designs comply with current building codes and regulations. Once completed the building approval to commence construction is issued.

Layout/ Excavation

Using the approved plans the pool is carefully plotted onto the property. Excavation equipment moves in to dig the hole while at the same time removing the excess soil from site.
Temporary Fencing
Once excavation complete, only approved contractors have access into the work site. A safety fence removes the risk of unauthorised personal accidentally injuring themselves.

Formwork/Steel Reinforcing

The box and steel crew will use timber to form the outer edges of the pool, they will then install the steel reinforcing as per the engineered plans.
Pre-Plumb
This includes things like your skimmer installation and returns/ light buckets/ spa jets/ in floor cleaning/ maindrain/ sequential earthing etc

Engineer Inspection

The pool is now ready to be concreted, the engineer is required
to attend the property to inspect and sign off that the work they require is adequate and complete.
Concrete Spray
A concrete pump truck fitted with a pneumatic delivery system sprays the concrete into position, this is closely followed by a crew of skilled trades people who hand cut the finish.

Plumbing
Pipes/ Pump/ Filtration and Chlorinator/ Lights and Cabling are installed.
Tiles and Coping
Waterline tiles, feature tiles, highlights, coping tiles, tiles surrounding the pool, and any form of water features that are being constructed will be installed.

Fencing

Once the pool reaches this stage it is time to install the permanent pool safety fence. This is required as once the interior lining is installed/ polished and acid washed, the pool is required to be immediately filled with water.
Interior Finishes

Interior Lining installed and Filled with water.
Completion/Handover/Enjoyment
After a final inspection from the building certifier issuing a form of compliance and completion, a chemical balance and induction to your pool and how it works will be conducted. It is now time to celebrate your new SEQ POOLS.
